"The thing about singing teachers is they don’t teach you how to sing, but how to get rid of what’s stopping you singing. That’s what my teacher, Andrew Ross, did with me."
Ewan McGregor – Actor (Moulin Rouge)

To say Andrew was an integral and crucial element in the realisation of this complex motion picture (Moulin Rouge) is somewhat of an understatement. His ability to draw from the actor/singer incredible performances is something I consider to be one of his many strengths
Baz Luhrmann - Director (Moulin Rouge)
It’s rare that you find a teacher who genuinely believes in you. Andrew Ross is that teacher. His coaching and musical direction helped me access a vocal range beyond what I knew I had and sustain my vocal fitness throughout the production season of Next To Normal.

I never share my stage with anyone, except with my old bridesmaid Madge Allsopp, but she's a charity and tax deductible, and nobody looked at her anyway, especially now that she has passed away.
The only other person allowed on my stage is professor Andrew Ross, my friend, voice coach and pianist, who sits quietly in the background and laughs spontaneously at my insights and aperçus.
Professor Ross has travelled with me everywhere from Singapore to Skanderborg, New York to Nunawading, Vancouver to Venezuela. He helps me to write my wonderful songs (up to a point), and he cooks me scrumptious snacks in his crockpot.
He is a consummate musician and, incidentally, a reasonably nice person.

Andrew Ross and I have worked together for almost 30 Years. We never quarrel because we are always laughing.
He is not just a fine accompanist, but a composer who does not merely find the right melody for my lyrics, but irritatingly suggests alternative ideas which are usually better than mine.
Vanity forbids me mentioning his contributions to my theatrical performances because they are too numerous and felicitous for inclusion on this brief testimonial.

Andrew really nurtured my love of music, And though I'd had the love, I lacked the skills and confidence to really thrive with it.
During my time at NIDA, I went from being an actor happy to enjoy music from the auditorium, to landing the role of Mufasa in the stage production of Disney's The Lion King, and I know my success there was due in large part to Andrew.
Rob Collins
Actor
I have worked regularly with Andrew since 2014 both on stage and in class at NIDA. His ability to help actors connect to text and ‘act through song’ has earned him a much-deserved reputation.
Andrew has become that rare breed of teacher, coach, practitioner and performer.
I highly recommend that any actor work with Andrew. If you are ‘blocked’, lacking confidence or simply want to sharpen your craft and be more athletic in your thinking, he has the skills to help.

Actor-Teacher

It’s only on retrospect that you look at Andrew Ross’s career and realise he has been immersed at the centre of where storytelling and song come together, for decades. His breadth of knowledge as a musician, combined with his directorial skills and his extensive teaching experience at the highest level means he is amongst our most precious Music Theatre assets. He’s also a lovely man who always provides fun and laughter to a focussed and dedicated process.
